My first radio on-air "job" was at college radio WLIU in Southampton NY. I interned at WPLJ-FM in NYC, and then on rocker WRCN-FM on Long Island where I was hired after
the internship. My first position at WRCN was running the board for
NY Islanders NHL games on sister station WRHD-AM and from there I did overnights
and weekends / fill-ins on WRCN-FM. I moved to San Diego in 1992 and ended up landing at "Nostalic" KPOP-AM as a board op and as a fill-in at Classic
Rocker KGB-FM. I moved back to
NY and bounced around small stations in the Hamptons and started working full-time in TV. I was offered a job at
CNN in Washington DC and left NY again and have been in
the Washington DC / Baltimore area ever since. I have worked at small and large market stations in Maryland since 1998 and that includes stints at
Full Service WNAV in Annapolis MD, Adult Contemporary
WCEI-FM in Easton, Country
WWFG Froggy 99.9 in Salisbury-Ocean City MD, Hot Adult Contemporary WCEM "106.3
The Heat" in Cambridge MD, Classic Rock WZBA-FM 100.7 The Bay in Baltimore,
Adult Alternative WRNR-FM in Annapolis MD, Rock WBXE-FM "Rock 93.7" in Cookeville TN, and Active Rock
WIYY-FM 98 Rock and WBAL Newsradio 1090 and FM 101.5
in Baltimore.
Below are a bunch of air checks that cover most of the stations that I have worked at, from the cringe-worthy Long Island days to present.
